Monday night marked the 1st shot fired in the Monday night wars. While WWE continued to set up wrestlemania TNA worked on gaining ground with wrestling fans. Overall both companies had the right ideas going in but in the end it appeared that TNA had just a bit more to offer. What did those of you that saw both broadcasts think? I personally don't see TNA consistently offering weekly television at tonights level.

TNA cripples itself with all of the old guys and bitch-off. you can't teach an old dog new tricks.

It's like I always say, WWE's trash is TNA's treasure.

It's like I always say, WWE's trash is TNA's treasure.I have to agree Bx. I think though WWE castoffs do well in TNA. Elijah Burke is a great example of TNA striking gold. Mr. Kennedy/Anderson has shades of brilliance as well. My gripe is the fact that the older stars can't seem to let go of the spotlight. WWE & TNA have veterans that are guilty of that sort thing. Both companies need to give the new guys time to get over with the fans and not rush the process.

TNA never should have given up Christian. His character was great! these wrestlers don't ever leave because they don't know how to save their money. not to mention most of them are hooked on painkillers.

Yeah, it sucks watching these old guys murder themselves day to day.
Look at Ric Flair, that guy was horribly disgusting to watch, his loose pink flesh dangling, ugh, I imagined he'd die in the ring from bleeding to death.
Undertaker is another one, I gotta watch that guy's disgusting bony chest every Week, it grosses me out.
He doesn't do anyhting anymore either, just slowly walks aorund the ring while someone does a terrible job of being a jobber for him, and tries to sell his shit, it's not happening anymore.
They gotta stop, and new guys gotta take over.
One thing about WWE, they'll get a really good wrestler, and just drop the ball on them, destroy their legacy.
Look at Taz, look at Rhino, RVD, and after what Christian and Jeff Hardy built up in TNA, they were utterly destoryed in WWE.Posted 4 months ago # -
In Vince McMahon terms if you are not 6'6' and 300lbs you can forget about every winning a belt. If you are not juiced to the gills you are not winning a belt. There are some notable exceptions like
Rey Mysterio- Oh yea because of Eddie
Eddie Guerrero-Popularity made him champ
Jericho- Most over guy and the best heel they got. His title reigns are a fucking joke though
CM Punk- Never given a decent title run. Him holding the belt was shitty simply from a booking standpoint. All these guys had average builds except Eddie who juiced at one point and their title reigns were not that great. HHH,Batista,Cena,Taker,Sheamus, all fit the Vince formula which in many case I feel is flawed.

Yeah, I see that.
I remember in the 90's where all the main eventers were these huge disgusting fat fucks, like Yokozuna, Mabel, EarthQuake, and the like.
Now it's all Juice heads, guys ripped to shit.
Jericho is boring to me now, I don't enjoy his character, they're not doing very good work with him.
CM punk as a heel is ridiculous, it just doesn't work.Posted 4 months ago # -
CM Punk's current heel persona is a throwback to his ROH days. Let's keep using original ideas guys lol.I don't going that route but how bout letting be a face longer than 30 days. Jericho can only thrive against guys with solid mic work and we know not many of them have good promo skills.Jericho against Edge is solid from a wrestling standpoint but the promos aren't selling shit. The Attitude Era thrived because performers were allowed to inject themselves into their characters. A trait that is now dead in current WWE programming.

Wrestling in general needst o give their new talent a few acting lessons and some training with some hardcore Mexican luchadors and those crazy Japanese motherfuckers. I am not being funny or anything - have them practice talking shit to each other and get some overall training to make matches more exciting instead of the same:
Start
exchange blows
OH!!!!! BODY SLAM!
good guy gets beat down then does his version of the "Hulk up" and winsor good guy gets upper hand and either someone runs down and the double team starts or there's a chair shot followed by immediate pinfall.
I have not watched wrestling in years and I guarantee it is still this way. Substitute chair for whatever else you wanna use.
Triple H needs to pull a Guile and "go home and be a family man"
Hulk Hogan needs to hop back in his coffin and take Ric Flair with him.Posted 4 months ago # -
haha, good stuff Slick.
They do need a training and acting overhaul, some guys make me cringe when on the mic.To change the sunject slightly from your note, For me, I prefer less predicatable wrestling, I hate when the good guys are clearly going to win after being pumped, fuck that.
You're trying to tell me I kick HOgan's ass then he Hulk's up and now a wrecking ball from a crane hit him and just smashes to bits because he is in Hulk mode?
pfffft, I always hated that shit, why doesn't he just do that when the match starts?
Nowadays, you can literally predict the outcome of every match during a PPV.
It's ridiculous.
For example, undertaker is going to win at Wrestlemania, there's no doubt.
They will not allow his old ass to lose his streak and shawn michaels is due for retirement.
Though, wrestlers never really retire.Posted 4 months ago #
