UFC 137 marked the long awaited return of one of my favorite fighters on the planet Nick “THE FUCKING MAN” Diaz. I’ve been a huge Diaz fan since he knocked out Robbie Lawler in one of the most amusing face plants I’ve ever seen. All week leading up to this fight I heard how BJ Penn (whom I’m also a huge fan of) had better jiu jitsu and better boxing and discounting everything Diaz has done over the last 10 fights. When the fight started Diaz had to be held back from attacking Penn at the glove touch. Once the fight started it seemed as if Diaz might be out classed on the feet as BJ continually countered him and even took him down and got his back after a beautiful scramble. As the second round started it seemed like the beast awakened in Diaz as he literally slapped away a BJ punch and then proceeded to whoop BJ’s ass all around the ring for the next 10 min. Then when the fight was over he yells into the camera “WHERE YOU AT GEORGES, WHERE YOU AT MOTHER FUCKER”. The reason I hate Chael is he is faking bad assery while Diaz eat sleeps and breathes it and now the him and GSP are going to fight next its going to be a war.

Other thoughts:
- It really saddens me that BJ retired Saturday night. I think he still has a lot of fight left in him but if he feels it’s time to hang them up he has nothing to be ashamed of. Two titles in different weight classes and the best lightweight ever he will be truly missed.
- The Kongo-MItrione fight was horrible to watch honestly there was no redeeming qualities which is sad because they normally put on good fights.
- Cro Cop had his moments in this fight but its probably time for him to go ahead and hang it up he just looks old and he isn’t going to be able to compete with most young heavies
- The Jorgenson-Curran fight was a pretty good back in forth fight that was worth a watch neither one of these dudes is beating Cruz anytime soon
- As big of a Hioki fan as I am I’ll be completely honest he lost his fight with Roop I have no idea what round he won besides 2
- Cerrone is a killer in the cage no way around it !
Now for my video Hatsu Hioki is one of the best 145ers in the world and did not show it last night allow me to show you why what you saw from him was a fluke not a trend.
