For as long as I can remember Tony Montana aka Scarface has had a home in my home theater. From VHS to three different DVD versions this gritty crime drama has followed me in journey to adulthood. Now we all know that Scarface is a “hood” staple that is referenced in pop culture worldwide but it is also a solid story that tells the rise of Antonio Montana from Cuban immigrant to drug kingpin. With great acting from luminaries like Pacino,Bauer,Pfeiffer,Mastrantonio and Robert Loggia I never get tired of seeing these actors delivering some of their most memorable lines. But you are not here to hear my trip down memory lane but to find out when you can own this classic. Here is the scoop on both versions that will be released on September 6th.
Blu-ray w/ digital copy has been restored and now includes 7.1 audio which is a first. You will also get a steel book package that includes ten exclusive art cards and a dvd of the original 1932 Scarface which is a definite must have. And now we move on to the ultimate set that caters not only to collectors but also to cigar aficionados. This ultimate edition will include a hand crafted Scarface themed humidor made by Daniel Marshall. This humidor will condition and age roughly 100 cigars. There will only be 1,000 humidors released worldwide. They will be embellished with custom film medallions and will also include a certificate of authenticity.
