Very shares his thoughts on the upcoming WWE draft. With the departure of Edge its been rumored WWE moved the draft to help fill the gaps on Smackdown. Let’s see how many of these actually happen tonight-Rich
*I am not really sure how many superstars are actually being drafted (on TV) so what I wrote down may be excessive. Also, this was written on Sunday night (US time) so anything can change regarding plansrumors by the time of the actual show. Also some of these draft picks may just be via “WWE’s website announcement” thing.
From Raw to SD!:
With rumors of switching Del Rio (as champ) and Miz (as champ) to the other brand, I guess it would mean The Miz being the main event guy on SD!, which is not a bad idea, especially if they will give him a decent feud.
Husky Harris:
Since selling Randy Orton‘s punt, Harris worked as a face masked wrestler on FCW, and while I do not think he will wrestle in that gimmick on the main roster, I do think he will re-debut on SD! as a face.
Randy Orton:
Since John Cena will probably not be drafted with the WWE is pushing The Rock and Cena’s WM28 match as a WWE title match, and the fact that there are rumors of drafting Del Rio to go against Cena at SummerSlam this year, Cena going to SD! would not make sense sadly. As for Orton, number one pick for someone to be drafted. He was on Raw for a long time, and with having the Nexus feud still going, it could be a decent way to delay that feud. Hopefully, this will mean a heel turn as well.
Evan Bourne:
Bourne did absolutely nothing since he got back from his injury, and with almost no signs of a push, perhaps he could go to SD! and get a decent feud there.
Sheamus:
If Sheamus will continue to be in the mid-card holding the US title, I think the WWE would like to give him some refreshed feuds. He was on Raw since he debuted, which is a long time. Perhaps switch him and Barrett (current INC title holder).
Ted Dibiase:
Since he was “split” from Maryse on NXT5, the WWE hinted on pushing Dibiase, and there isn’t a better way than to move him on a fresh brand and give him a proper build up feud with someone like Rey Mysterio for example. Even though Cody Rhodes seems like his feud with Rey is still happening, perhaps after extreme rules.
This pick is more to the fact that the WWE loves to draft mid-carders on TV every once in a while, and hopefully, he will get some TV time since he is a really good talent.
John Morrison:
Just like most wrestlers here, Morrison needs to have a fresh feud, and perhaps, if the WWE got some sense, a new gimmick for him. But since Truth attacked and turned heel, I fear the WWE would build this feud on Raw after extreme rules.
From SD! To Raw:
McIntyre needs a big feud, and in my view, if it will not happen on SD!, it should be against John Cena or Randy Orton to really establish him in the main event status (If Orton does not get drafted that is).
Hinting on The Corre’s splitting, moving Ezekiel to Raw is a logical move, unless they will push Ezekiel against someone like Undertaker.
Jack Swagger:
With the recent alignment with Michael Cole, and the match with Cole and Lawler at Extreme Rules, it would make sense to move him officially to Raw.
Tyler Reks:
Same as Zack Ryder, it looks like another good talent that gets almost no TV time besides the deceased Superstars show.
Wade Barrett:
As mentioned for Sheamus, it could be a way to switch championships and give fresh new starts as champions on that brand (even though Barrett had almost all his feuds on Raw, I’m speaking on singles competition without any faction behind him).
As mentioned, The Miz and Del Rio switching could be a terrific idea, especially if the current plan is to have Del Rio Vs Cena. Also The Miz Vs Christian could be good.
