Inturrupting the interview, Mayhem came up next to Jake, and said to him “Where’s my rematch buddy?”. Then, chaos ensued when several members of Jake’s corner, including Nick and Nate Diaz (oh, those Diaz Brothers) and other guys from the Cesar Gracie camp, apparently took offense to this and ran to Shields’ side and began to push and shove Miller. They throw him to the ground, and continue to punch, kick and stomp him. Bully Beatdown indeed. Media outlets are already calling this brawl “one of the biggest black eyes the sport has ever suffered”. Keep in mind this was not on PPV people! Millions of people saw this on live TV and probably shook their heads in disgust. If you are a fan, you know MMA is already seen as nothing more than a “barbaric” sport. In a time when Mixed Martial Arts is trying to push itself to new heights, things like this only back up the claims that it is “glorified street fighting” and sets everyone back a step in their accomplishments.
My personal opinion is there was no need for this to occur. Yes, Mayhem is brash, cocky and arrogant – we all know this, but asking for a rematch doesn’t entitle him to getting jumped – and that is exactly what occurred here. “Where’s my rematch buddy” is not a threat of any kind, and I do not understand how it turned sour so fast. PS -way to go, Nate and Nick, for making everyone believe even further that you belong in the ‘hood and not a cage.
Take a look for yourself -this is what happened:

Everytime a struggling medium take 2 steps forward, some asshole causes it to take 1-2 steps back.
Same for video games and movies.
Always an asshole in the midst.

LikePoking a light jab is no reason to get thrown a beating like that. I agree that the camp should be made to pay if not the ones directly involved. It's not like Miller walked up to him and said, "I'm gonna knock you the fuck out right here and now." I'm sure the politicians are gonna have a field day with this shit.

LikeCheck out the lowlife kicking Mayhem while he's got 5 or 6 other lowlives on top of him. I'm surprise these idiots didn't throw up gang signs after beating him like that. Outrageous. If Strike Force wants to save face and not seem like they are an organization of thugs and scumbags, they should make that entire camp pay a price.

Likethe guy kind of did it with a smile, you can see, he just wanted to poke a jab, nothing more.
Then that shit just erupted, no honor in that.
I hope those dudes get barred from the octagon.

LikeThem Diaz boyz are straight ghetto fabtabulous. I understand their from a bad place but, don't bring the hood to the octagon. Mayhem was doing what every other crap talking, brash fighter does to hype a potential fight. I know those Diaz boyz know this but I guess, if you do it to one of their guys, they'll smash you like it's a blood/crypt war. People will look at this and think it's just a Strike Force thing but it's the MMA world's problem. Your right, MMA is trying to get out there and be respected just like every other sport but it's this kinda BS that'll keep it down. I think The Diazs and there entire camp should be ashamed of themselves. I'm wondering if this will affect their rep in the UFC. I'm sure their capable of pulling this nonsense in the UFC also. Cliche as it is but you could take the kid outta the hood but you can't take the hood outta the kid.
